Best Wishes


Our last day of Kindergarten has come. I want to thank each family for allowing me the oportunity
to learn and grow with your son or daughter this year. Please celebrate your child's success. I am very proud to be your son or daughter's kindergarten teacher. I wish each and everyone a wonderful Summer and all the best in grade one! Please keep in touch and remember to read and write over the Summer.

ACC Spring Concert This Friday-June 10th

I just wanted to make a friendly reminder that the Spring Concert is this coming Friday!It is at 1:00.Some parents are wondering if there is a kindergarten graduation......There is no Kindergarten graduation but we are singing in the school concert. We look forward to seeing you.

Math Homework This week

We created our own morning message

Wow....The children wrote there own message.
Look at the inventive spelling!
The message says:
Good morning Kindergarten.
The season is spring.
Today is Thursday.
Have a good day.
As you can see, we are working on sounding out words, left to right printing, and that sentences start with a capital and end with a period. Please Please practice at home!!Children need to write every day to become fluent!!!

It is time for sunscreen!



The nice weather is approaching....FINALLY!!
It is the parent's responsibility to make sure sunscreen is applied to his or her child.
Please make sure that your child has the proper sunscreen.
You can apply before Kindergarten and send a bottle of sunscreen in to Kindergarten.
Please label  the sunscreen with your child's name if you send it to Kindergarten.
I will give extra time for your child to apply his or her own sunscreen.
Thank you for your concern in this matter.

Banana Split Day



We are having a banana split day on Wednesday June1st!
I am supplying the ice-cream. I am looking for parents to help with the following items:

Picnic Re-scheduled




We are going on a picnic Thursday, May 12th. 
We will walk to Gateway, play outdoors and eat lunch.
We plan to leave the school at 10:45 and return at 12:30.

April 11-15

Monday- Journals Writing and Computer lab
Tuesday and all week- Lessons about the Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. Each child will take the book home to share with his or her family. Please read it together and return it the next day so all children get a turn to take it home. There are many great lessons at http://www.teachingheart.net/veryhungrycaterpillar.html
Wednesday- we are now working on patterns: ABCABCABCABC.....An example could be red, green, yellow, red green, yellow,etc,etc
Thursday- Butterfly craft and group time with Mrs. Bryanton's class

How many days for seeds to grow?

We planted grass seeds today, April 7, and predicted how many days it will take to grow. The estimates were from 1-100! We are on day 5 and still no grass!

Fieldtrip to hospital and lunch

We have a field trip planned on April 28th to the Prince County Hospital and then out for lunch.Thanks to Rachel and Jeremy for their help.

April is here!

April Showers bring May flowers!
We are learning about Spring.
We have made and put out bird feeders at ACC.
We are learning the letter Uu and planting seeds.
We are doing more problem-solving tasks in Math. This week using the book The Doorbell Rang by Pat Hutchins. We are also exploring in math by using the scales and discussing the concept of heavy and light. There is lots of learning happening in Kindergarten!

ACC Flea Market

ACC is fund- raising for Easter Seals.
We are having a flea market at the school.
We are starting to collect items to sell in good condition.
Examples of items could be puzzles, books and games.
We are also having a bake sale.You could bake cookies or cupcakes to sell.
You can send items in with your child or drop it off at ACC.
More information will be sent home with your child in the coming days.

Rubber Boot Time!

Spring is slowly but surely arriving.
The playground is muddy!
I would recommend rubber boots and extra socks for your child.

Rhyming

We are working on rhyming. Each child will get a chance to bring in rhyming objects.
Good job Katlyn, ball and doll ryhme. What other words rhyme? We hope to make a book with all the creative ideas!
